Karim, I admire your enthusiasm but the most important thing is to get as many attending as possible, players won`t bother if its a handful. To do that you need to give a lot of notice and make it a memorable date. Typically we have started pre-season training the first sunday in February, easy to remember and that helps avoids confusion. Chris any news on confirming this or a change of plans for this coming year? |

Of course the potential 4 week gap does not stop players starting a personal fitness plan of their own, so that the first session isn`t the first time they have tried to do more than find the tv remote since september! |

I`ve a sad announcement to make today, due to the financial pressures of being a post-postgrad I`m having to move back home to Gloucester and will therefore have to bid farewell to MBC. Hopefully I`ll be back up at the field soon, either back with the club or with another team from wherever I end up Many thanks for the great times over the last four years, good luck for the future, Gareth |

I agree with Karim, we need to get some kind of training in place as soon as possible. I have been throwing a ball about with Karim for an hour or so, but i know there are more people in the team wanting to train. I don`t see why we have to wait until Feb to start something. Even if only 6-10 people turn up, it is then those players who will benefit from starting training earlier. |

Rob, I personally don`t think there is the interest to book (and pay for) a venue right now, but I have bumped into Chris and Dave at the ground training over the winter and there is nothing stopping you and karim organising a session there too, on the tarmac if the ground is wet. As chris has suggested training should be focusing on long toss right now and the ground / tarmac is fine for that. |
